SpaceX successfully launches international 4-person team to ISS on Crew-11 mission

(MENAFN) On Friday, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket took off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying an international crew of four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Crew-11 mission.

The launch occurred at 11:43 a.m. local time (1643 GMT), after being postponed from Thursday due to bad weather. Despite similar weather concerns on Friday, the launch went ahead as planned.

The crew includes NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Russian cosmonaut Oleg Platonov.

They are expected to reach and dock with the ISS after approximately 15 hours in transit. The team will remain aboard the station for six months, carrying out a variety of scientific experiments, including studies on stem cells and plant biology.
