Justmylook adds structured ingredient data for 15 beauty brands as AI assistants change how shoppers find products
UK beauty retailer goes live with AI-readable ingredient data from Inference Beauty for brands including Olaplex, CosRx and Nivea.
More of them now start by asking an AI assistant. Making sure those assistants understand the brands we carry, and point shoppers to us, is the natural next step.”
BRIGHOUSE, UNITED KINGDOM, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- UK online beauty retailer Justmylook today went live with structured, sourced ingredient and product data from Swiss beauty data company Inference Beauty on its product pages. The first phase covers 15 brands, including Beauty of Joseon, Color Wow, CosRx, Medicube, Nivea, Olaplex, Redken and Wella Professionals.— Luke Williams, managing director of Justmylook
The move responds to a fast change in how people shop. 42% of US consumers have used AI assistants to shop online, according to a July 2026 Adobe survey, and AI-referred visits to US retail sites converted 60% better than other traffic. But where search engines show 100 or more products, a typical AI shopping answer names 3 to 8, according to AI commerce data company Novi.
An opening for retailers
In beauty, Perplexity sent shoppers to retailers more than 4 times as often as to brand websites, according to agency Avenue Z’s study of US beauty brands. But each brand describes ingredients and claims its own way, and a raw ingredient list gives an AI assistant little to match against a request such as a sulphate-free shampoo for colour-treated hair. Adobe found that cosmetics product pages score lowest for how easily AI can read and cite them: 66%, against 79% for editorial content.
“Our customers have always wanted accurate information so they can make more considered purchases,” said Luke Williams, managing director of Justmylook. “More of them now start by asking an AI assistant. Making sure those assistants understand the brands we carry, and point shoppers to us, is the natural next step.”
What the partnership covers
Inference Beauty adds machine-readable Schema.org markup to each product page, covering ingredients, free-from claims, skin-type fit and target concerns. Ingredient facts come from independent references such as the EU’s CosIng database. New products are parsed continuously and existing data is updated to keep it fresh. It builds on ingredient tools Justmylook already runs with Inference Beauty.
“AI assistants recommend what they can verify,” said Estella Benz, chief executive of Inference Beauty. “Most beauty product data was written for people browsing a page, not for a model choosing 5 products. Retailers that address this now will be the ones these assistants send shoppers to.”
