Z-Text Develops Temporary Messaging Identity Without Phone Number or Email

Planned feature is designed to provide a separate messaging identity for temporary communication, with a proposed $3 creation fee

SHERIDAN, WY, UNITED STATES, September 28, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Z-Text LLC, developer of a blockchain-based messaging application built on BitcoinZ, is developing a temporary messaging identity designed for users who want to communicate without registering a phone number, SIM card, or email address.

The planned feature would allow a user to create a separate cryptographic identity for temporary messaging. Z-Text proposes a $3 fee for creating the identity. The feature is being developed as an extension of the application's existing account architecture, which does not require a phone number, SIM card, or email address for identity creation.

Z-Text is currently operating a private beta program and is preparing for a planned application release in early October 2026.

Temporary identity without a permanent profile

The planned identity is designed to be separate from a user's primary Z-Text identity and intended for temporary communication.

“A temporary identity can be useful when someone does not want a short-term contact or conversation connected to their primary identity,” said Eric Pierrot, founder of Z-Text LLC. “The feature follows the same design principle as the rest of Z-Text: messaging does not require a phone number.”

According to the company, the disposable identity would have its own local key. When the user removes that key, access to the identity would no longer be available through that key.

Removing the local key would not delete information already recorded on the BitcoinZ blockchain. Z-Text therefore distinguishes between removing local access to an identity and removing data from the blockchain.

The company is not presenting the planned feature as a method for making blockchain messages disappear.

Five functions within one application

The planned temporary identity is part of the broader Z-Text application, which combines private messaging, a cryptocurrency wallet, password management, on-chain Channels, and disposable identities.

According to Z-Text, the application derives identity from a 24-word seed phrase rather than requiring a phone number, email address, or SIM card.

The company also states that Z-Text uses zk-SNARKs-based privacy technology and a hybrid key-exchange design involving ML-KEM-768 and X25519.

Z-Text has published a technical threat model describing the application's design and known limitations. The company is also operating a funded bug bounty program while preparing for an independent security audit.

Development status

The temporary-identity feature remains in active development and is not being presented as a completed, independently audited feature.

Z-Text is currently available through a private beta program, with a planned application release in early October 2026.
