Remondo and Meissa Partner to Advance AI-Powered Satellite Operations and Earth Observation Solutions
Companies collaborate to automate the workflow from satellite mission planning and tasking through imagery processing, exploitation, and delivery
Our goal is not simply to capture better imagery, but to make that imagery more actionable and accessible.”
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, October 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Remondo, a developer of breakthrough ultra-high-resolution Earth observation technology, and Meissa, a South Korean provider of satellite operations and imagery processing software, today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on AI-enabled satellite operations, advanced image processing and integrated Earth observation solutions. The Melissa MOU follows a strategic MOU Remondo signed earlier this year with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to advance sovereign ultra-high-resolution Earth observation capabilities for defense, civil and commercial applications across Asia. — Jim Beckley
The agreement establishes a framework for the companies to combine their complementary technologies and expertise to develop more automated, intelligent and cost-effective Earth observation capabilities. The collaboration will explore applications spanning the satellite mission lifecycle—from autonomous tasking and mission planning through data acquisition, image processing, analytics and delivery.
"Combining Remondo's next-generation imaging capabilities with Meissa's expertise in satellite operations and AI-powered image processing creates an exciting opportunity to redefine how Earth observation data is collected, processed and delivered," said Jim Beckley, Chief Revenue Officer of Remondo. "Our goal is not simply to capture better imagery, but to make that imagery more actionable and accessible. Together with Meissa, we can move toward an end-to-end solution that delivers high-resolution intelligence faster and more efficiently to customers around the world."
Under the MOU, the companies intend to pursue joint research and development in four key areas:
- AI-Enabled Satellite Operations and Automated Image Processing. Remondo and Meissa will explore the application of artificial intelligence to satellite mission operations and imagery processing, including autonomous tasking, mission planning, command and control workflows, and automated processing pipelines from data acquisition through delivery.
- Advanced Image Processing and Analytics. The companies will explore advanced image processing, image quality enhancement and geospatial analytics algorithms optimized for satellite imagery, with the goal of extracting greater value and actionable intelligence from high-resolution Earth observation data.
- Integrated, End-to-End Solutions. The companies will examine the feasibility of combining Remondo's optical payload and constellation capabilities with Meissa's satellite operations and imagery processing software into integrated solutions that can be offered to sovereign, defense, civil and commercial customers as a unified package.
- Joint Business Development and Market Expansion. Remondo and Meissa intend to identify and pursue opportunities in South Korea, Israel and international markets, including civil and defense programs, publicly funded research initiatives and commercial partnerships. The companies will also explore opportunities to coordinate with their respective partners and stakeholders.
"Meissa is excited to partner with Remondo to bring together advanced satellite operations, AI and next-generation Earth observation technology," said Dongyoung Kim, Chief Executive Officer of Meissa. "By combining our platforms and operational capabilities with Remondo's innovative imaging payloads, we see an opportunity to create highly automated solutions that move beyond simply acquiring imagery to delivering timely, actionable intelligence. This collaboration also opens new opportunities for both companies in Korea, Israel, and international markets."
The partnership comes as demand grows for sovereign and responsive Earth observation capabilities that can support defense and security missions while also serving civil and commercial applications. Remondo's Partial Aperture Imaging System (PAIS) is designed to deliver sub-20-centimeter—and ultimately sub-10-centimeter—resolution from cost-effective low-Earth-orbit satellite platforms, addressing the traditional trade-off between image resolution, affordability and scalability.
The collaboration with Meissa adds an AI and software layer to Remondo's imaging architecture, with the potential to automate the path from satellite tasking to processed imagery and actionable geospatial intelligence.
About Remondo
Founded in 2022, Remondo develops scalable, cost-effective optical payloads, remote sensing constellations and geospatial intelligence for defense, commercial and AI-driven applications. By removing the traditional trade-off between image resolution and affordability, the company enables ultra-high-resolution, high-revisit imaging from low-cost low-Earth-orbit satellites. Remondo's proprietary Partial Aperture Imaging System (PAIS) is designed to deliver sub-20-centimeter and ultimately sub-10-centimeter resolution from affordable, compact satellite platforms.
About Meissa
Meissa is a spatial AI company that uses artificial intelligence to process and analyze spatial data, including drone and satellite imagery. The company provides a platform that enables stakeholders in construction and infrastructure projects to understand site conditions and collaborate using a shared source of spatial data, and is expanding into the defense and space sectors. www.meissa.ai
