Newton and GOE Partner to Make Vietnam’s Trade Standards Enforceable Onchain

Vietnam’s first onchain policy enforcement to verify business identity and trade documents before settlement, giving counterparties a verifiable record.

GEORGE TOWN, CAYMAN ISLANDS, October 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Newton Foundation and Global On-Chain Economy (GOE) today announced the first onchain policy enforcement for trade in Vietnam. Working alongside government authorities, GOE curates national trade standards and Newton Protocol turns them into programmable rules that validate documents and company records before any transaction settles.

"Vietnam has set some of the most ambitious growth targets in the world, and the capital behind that growth will first ask whether it can verify what it is funding. Working with GOE, we’re starting to give investors that certainty" said Mohammad Akhavannik, Managing Director, Newton Foundation.

The National Assembly of Vietnam has set a target of at least 10% average annual GDP growth for 2026 to 2030, which puts pressure on the trade corridors that connect Vietnamese businesses with the rest of the world.

Today, a company abroad that wants to trade with or finance a Vietnamese business has to do all of the due diligence themselves. Newton Protocol runs those checks automatically before any transaction settles. It confirms that the businesses involved have been verified, that their paperwork meets the required standard, and that the same document hasn’t already been used to receive funds or loans on the platform. If any check fails, the transaction is blocked.

“Vietnamese enterprises don't lack good business. What they lack are records a partner abroad can check without starting from zero. We're building those records one document at a time, and independent verification is part of that,” said Nguyen Huu Vu Khoa, Secretary General, GOE

Each check produces a cryptographic attestation that others can verify independently. Participants can confirm that the required checks passed without the underlying confidential records being made public.

This is the first stage of a program that will expand to cover multiple trade corridors and asset types. Engineering teams from both organizations are working together now, and further details will be shared as the program reaches its milestones.
